What People's Say About Place

A few days ago my husband and I stopped at Smoak Town as we continue our way through the Texas Monthly top 50 list. We went on a Wednesday a few minutes before they opened and there wasn’t a line and plenty of parking! The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The food truck and tables were clean and well kept! Now, about the food! I was incredibly impressed by how good everything was. The mac and cheese was the best I’ve ever had from a bbq place. The brisket was addictively good!! I can’t stop thinking about it good! The bbq sauce was also impressive. I’m not usually that interested in the sauce, but this was great! Overall, I cannot wait to go back and try more! Worth the price and the drive!

Stopped in here on a cold Saturday around 1pm In Fate Texas. Their trailer is with some other trailers and a covered sitting area. Everything we had was great. I haven’t had them all yet but this brisket belongs in the TM Top 10. Ribs were good as was the pulled pig. I see lots of places with 5 stars that I would rate 3 or 4, but this place is legit good. Potato salad, mac and cheese, creamed corn, beans, all were great sides. The team was friendly and I enjoyed chatting with them about Texas BBQ, got some good ideas. Close enough to Dallas, can’t wait to go back.

First time trying this place. Brisket was tender and the bark was on point. Ribs had a sweet touch which were delicious. I really enjoyed the sausage, it actually had a Jalepeno kick to it. The family had turkey sandwiches and said it's must try. Solid food overall. We will definitely order here again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We were looking for catering options for my grandpa’s 90th birthday party with 30+ people and chose Smoak Town BBQ because the food is so good and the price was right. Best decision we could’ve made—everyone loved it and kept asking where the food was from. Highly recommend!

Worth the hype as a Top 50 in Texas? You know it was really good. The star for us was the jalapeño sausage, ribs and burnt ends. The brisket was a little dry, but weather could have affected that being cold and windy. The sides were okay, but sides are hard at any bbq place. Being a craft bbq spot the prices are a little high but not that bad, especially for what you get.

I stopped in Fate, Texas today for lunch at SMOAK TOWN BBQ located in the Fate Food Haul food truck court. I have tried this location a few times in the past and have been pleased with it. This is a food trailer so all meals are prepared to go vs on a plate. There is a covered pavilion with wooden picnic tables for dining. I tried a variety of meats along with one side today and opted to eat in my vehicle vs outside due to the heat and cleanliness. Brisket: I ordered 1/4 pound with half of it lean and the other half moist. Both were good enough to not need sauce. Their sauce is a smoky sweet hickory flavor. I was reminded at how pronounced their bark is, it was higher than average in sodium. 6.5/10 Pork ribs: The crust was great, the meat fell off of the bone and the tip pulled apart from the cartilage easily. The seasoning was also heavy in sodium. 7/10 Pork belly burnt ends: medium sized cubes that were not crispy on all sides. The open sides allowed you to see the meat vs fat layers. The consistency was great, they were tender and pulled apart easily. 7.5/10 Broccoli salad: chopped broccoli with nuts, craisins, seasoning and a light dressing. The broccoli was overly chopped but it allowed all of the flavors to meld nicely. 6/10 I added another stamp to my Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Joints as Smoak Town BBQ was selected for the 2025 list. The seasoning did not vary much from one meat to the next. I would be happy only ordering one meat item per visit, I will try to remember that in the future. #smoaktownbbq #fatetexas #texasbbq #texasbrisket #texasmonthlytop50

What I got: ( 3 meat plate) Brisket, sausage, ribs. Side: mashed potatoes, mac & cheese. What I paid :$38.97 with tax customer service: excellent! The lady gave me good recommendation since it was my first time and did not know what I wanted. She was very patient and kind. Ambience: outdoor, relaxing and casual lots of sitting area. Food: good portion, very tender my favorite was the ribs Will definitely return.

My wife and I had our date day out at the fate food haul and we can tell you why this place is in the top 50 BBQ joint in texas. Good people, good food. They open at 11 but I recommend you get there before that for sure
